The BB-MT Series is a magnetic tumbler that uses a powerful rotating magnetic field to rapidly move fine stainless steel polishing pins.
The pins polish, clean, and deburr jewelry and precision metal parts. They repeatedly contact external surfaces as well as grooves, gaps, chain links, and other complex areas that are difficult to reach by hand.
The BB-MT Series can be used for:
Typical applications include:
Before processing, check the material, surface condition, plating, and stone settings. We recommend testing a small quantity first.
The machine can be used for post-processing workpieces made of gold, silver, platinum, stainless steel, brass, and other metals.
Results may vary depending on the material and surface condition. Begin with a low speed and short operating time when testing a new workpiece.
Yes. The fine polishing pins can move through narrow grooves, gaps, and chain links.
This makes the machine particularly effective for polishing the inside of rings and detailed areas that are difficult to finish by hand.
The supplied polishing pins are Ø0.5 × 5mm, made in South Korea from STS303 stainless steel.
They are suitable for general jewelry applications such as rings, pendants, and chains.
The following pin sizes may be selected according to the shape of the workpiece and the required polishing intensity:
Polishing performance may vary depending on the pin size, material, manufacturing accuracy, and surface condition. We therefore recommend using genuine BB polishing pins.
If non-genuine polishing pins are used, compatibility with the machine and the resulting polishing quality cannot be guaranteed.
Magnetic tumble polishing generally requires the following four items:
Place the workpieces, polishing pins, water, and polishing solution together in the polishing barrel.
We recommend using a dedicated polishing solution for jewelry magnetic tumblers.
If a dedicated solution is unavailable, a small amount of mild dishwashing detergent may also be used. It helps remove contamination and allows the polishing pins and workpieces to move more smoothly inside the barrel.
Use only a small amount, as excessive detergent may produce too much foam or cause the liquid to overflow.
Do not use strong acids, strong alkalis, flammable solvents, or other liquids that may damage the barrel or machine.
The polishing pins are included as a standard accessory, but polishing solution is not included.
A jewelry magnetic-tumbler polishing solution or mild dishwashing detergent should be prepared separately.
Add water and polishing solution according to the recommended amount for each model. Do not exceed the permitted fill level of the barrel.
Begin with a small amount of polishing solution or mild detergent and confirm that the pins and workpieces circulate smoothly. Excessive liquid or detergent may cause foaming or overflow.
Yes. Multiple small workpieces can be processed together within the capacity of each model.
However, pin movement and polishing results may vary depending on the size, shape, and quantity of the workpieces. Do not overload the barrel, and make sure that the pins and workpieces can move freely.
Chains and very thin parts may tangle or deform, so test a small quantity first.
Jewelry polishing can generally achieve satisfactory results in approximately 10 to 30 minutes.
The required time may vary depending on the material and surface condition of the workpiece, the size and quantity of the pins, the polishing solution, the speed, and the desired result. Begin with a short test cycle and extend the operating time as needed.
Use the following settings as general starting points:
Before increasing the speed, check the load, pin flow, water level, and condition of the pins.
Yes. The speed can be adjusted according to the size, shape, and material of the workpiece.
The timer can be set from 0 to 60 minutes, and continuous operation is also available. During extended continuous operation, periodically check the condition and temperature of the machine and polishing barrel.
The Stop & Go function temporarily stops and restarts the machine to redistribute the polishing pins and workpieces.
It helps prevent chains and complex parts from clustering in one area or remaining in a fixed flow pattern, supporting more even polishing results.
The Stop & Go interval can be adjusted from 20 to 50 seconds using the control knob.
Before polishing, make sure that all stones and prongs are securely fixed. Loose stones or settings may become detached or damaged during operation.
The BB-MT Series is not recommended for pearls or other organic gemstones with delicate surfaces, as repeated contact with the polishing pins may scratch or damage them.
For other stone-set jewelry, test one item first using a low speed and short operating time.
Before polishing, make sure that the stones and prongs are securely fixed.
Loose stones or settings may become detached or damaged during operation. We recommend testing a small quantity first.
Yes. The transparent polishing barrel allows users to observe the movement of the pins and workpieces and check the amount of material inside.
At the beginning of operation, confirm that the pins and workpieces circulate smoothly and that there is no abnormal noise, vibration, or leakage.
The BB-MT Series can remove fine burrs and machining marks while improving the luster and overall finish of jewelry surfaces.
Depending on the material, initial surface condition, and desired finish, an additional buff-polishing process may still be required.
Check the operating conditions in the following order:
If the result is uneven, check the load and pin flow before simply increasing the speed.
Reduce the number of chains processed in one batch and test again at a lower speed.
Using the Stop & Go function can also help redistribute the pins and chains and reduce clustering.
Check the following:
Adjust the load and water level as needed, and clean the pins thoroughly.
After use, rinse the pins and polishing barrel with clean water as necessary to remove polishing residue and contamination.
Contaminated pins may reduce polishing performance or leave stains on workpieces. For long-term storage, clean and dry the pins thoroughly and protect them from foreign matter.
Replace the pins if their size or shape becomes excessively deformed or if contamination cannot be removed.
Replace the polishing solution when it becomes contaminated with metal dust or polishing residue.
When replacing the solution, rinse the polishing barrel and pins with clean water as necessary.
The three models differ in polishing barrel size, machine dimensions, weight, and power consumption.
| Item | MT-110 | MT-135 | MT-180 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polishing barrel size | 110 × 100mm | 135 × 100mm | 180 × 100mm |
| Machine dimensions | 185 × 315 × 197mm | 205 × 335 × 205mm | 247 × 387 × 247mm |
| Weight | 6kg | 7kg | 10kg |
| Power consumption | 70W | 110W | 170W |
All models support speed control, a 0–60-minute timer with continuous operation, the Stop & Go function, and a barrel with a pin-dispersion structure.
Select a model based on the size and quantity of the workpieces, the required batch capacity, and the operating environment.
For specific applications, we recommend consulting an authorized BB distributor before selecting a model.
